Deba has an important and large archaeological heritage. The limestone mountains that formed the extensive orography of the municipality have led to the formation of numerous hills, large underground caverns and caves, used by prehistoric men for their shelter. As for the religious and civil heritage, the conomic prosperity that Deba lived during the 16th century is clear today in the temples, shrines, convents and ancient and noble houses that we find scattered across the town.
